Founded by CJ Kanuha, a former professional surfer who spent years chasing waves around the world, and his business partner Clay Kinney, Aloha Vibes represents the culmination of a shared dream.

Clay, born and raised in Kona, brought over two decades of global finance experience to the partnership. He returned home to pursue his true calling: creating spaces where people can disconnect from the corporate world and reconnect with what matters.

A Big Island native and former professional surfer, CJ spent over 15 years competing on the world stage. Known for his fearless approach to big wave surfing and his genuine aloha spirit, CJ transitioned from the tour to pursue his passion for bringing people together.
Clay Kinney
Co-Founder
Clay traded the boardroom for the beachfront, bringing business expertise and a deep love for Hawaiian culture to Aloha Vibes. His commitment to local sourcing ensures every dish honors the islands.

Phillip G — General Manager
Phillip brings years of experience from Lahaina's legendary Front Street. When the devastating fires changed everything, Phillip found a new home with the Aloha Vibes ohana on the Big Island.
His expertise in hospitality and unwavering commitment to guest experience make him the heart of our daily operations. Phillip's journey reminds us that the aloha spirit endures, even in the face of adversity.
